Configure Gradebook Settings in Canvas

"Automatically" and "Manually" Settings

1. In Canvas, click "Grades."

2. In the gradebook, click the three dots next to the assignment.

3. Click "Grade Posting Policy."

4. Selecting "Automatically" allows for grades to be visible.

5. Selecting "Manually" allows for grades to be hidden.

6. Click "Save."

Post and Hide Grades in Gradebook

7. To hide assignment grades in the Canvas gradebook, click the three dots next to the assignment and select "Hide Grades."

8. Select "Hide" in the right-hand menu.

Tip: Tip! An icon that resembles an eyeball with a line through it will appear on the grade assignment header, to indicate the assignment grades are now hidden.

9. To unhide the assignment grades, click the three dots next to the assignment and select "Post Grades."

10. Either select the radio button for "Everyone" or "Graded," then click "Post" in the right-hand menu to show grades to students.
